The shadow of our DeHaviland Beaver passes over a band of caribou from the Western Arctic Caribou Herd. 

The Western Arctic Caribou Herd is the largest of 32 "official" caribou herds in Alaska. 430,000 caribou were counted during the last census in 1999.
