Galena Alaska
Sportsman's fall hunts are based from Galena Alaska.
For travel to Galena, Frontier Flying Service has regularly scheduled flights twice daily originating from Anchorage and Fairbanks.
Inbound hunters typically overnight in Anchorage or Fairbanks and should schedule the morning flight into Galena in order to be prepped and flown into the field that same day.
Hunters arriving Galena on afternoon flights will generally need to overnight in Galena for prep and flights into the field the following morning. Rooms and B&B's are available in Galena. Prior reservations are not necessary.
Baggage, on Frontier, is limited to 80 lbs. per person. No single bag may exceed 70 pounds, $0.50 per pound is charged for excess luggage.
To comply with baggage restrictions hunters may mail gear to Galena prior to their hunt. Ship gear by US Postal Service PRIORITY MAIL fifteen days prior to your hunt. DO Not use Fed X, UPS, Express or Standard postal services!
