Alaska Caribou Hunts

The Western Arctic Caribou Herd, numbering greater than 300,000 animals, is Alaska's largest caribou herd. The annual migration from the Brooks Range to the Seward Peninsula moves this herd through the Selawik National Wildlife Refuge each fall. Working under the exclusive guide/outfitter concession within this refuge, Sportsman's will put you in the path of this annual migration. Opportunities for Black Bear and Wolves may also present themselves on these hunts.

Sportsman's hunts are based from Galena Alaska.Caribou hunts are based from Galena. Outfitted camps come complete with everything you need for your hunt other than your personal gear and rifle or bow. Caribou may be taken as incidental game on any Sportsman's guided or outfitted hunts for moose or bear.
